A hot mess

Soup is perfect for October!

Sausage, rice, tomatoey goodness!

I can't tell you how he made this but
boy was my tummy ready for this
warm broth when I got home.

He covered the top in shredded mozzarella,
look at that stringy goodness!

mmm mmm for a side he used homemade
bread (I know, that's becoming a regular thing
here!) for garlic toast. The perfect dippers.

This month is all about studying and prepping
for those November tests and I enjoy these nice
comforting foods while I work away.

So thankful for a wonderful husband who cooks
after a long day at work. It's appreciated!

About the chef

This man is such a blessing to me and my family!
I thank God for his creative mind and eagerness to cook.
Christopher' favorite drink is scotch, no ice
and he tends to be a bit of a wine snob.
He likes to learn what wine to pair with each dish.

Pizza is love

Another great meal!

So today I was actually home and got to
see first hand as he was creating the dish.

This one took a lot of work, pizza dough
was made, home made tomato sauce and
all the ingredients cut and prepped.

Here he is hard at work closing up these
beauties. Our house smelt good all
evening, and hot personal pizzas where
the perfect item to go with movie night.

I hope this is making
you drool! These babies are hot
and ready to eat,
I'm already wishing i could
save some for lunch and make
my class mates jealous!

                                                                     About the chef
I love getting to share a blurb about my man.
Aside from cooking he is also very creative when it comes to art, jokes and love.
    Today I had to stop writing the blog so he could tell me this blonde joke;
A blonde goes to her mechanic and asks him to fix the hail damage on her car,
he responds by telling her how she can repair it for free on her own.
"Go home, let the car cool down and blow into the exhaust pipe, this will pop out the dents."
So she gets home, waits till the car cools down and starts blowing into the exhaust pipe, meanwhile
her blonde roommate pulls up and says "what are you doing?" The blonde explains that she's
blowing out the dents and the roommate says " you're so stupid......... the windows are rolled down!"

Menno benedict

Wowie!

Guess what Christopher made yesterday, a
very interesting remake of eggs benedict.

Using fresh baked bread as the base, he added ground beef, cheese and then made
an omelette and covered it in schmonfat.

Such a tasty and filling meal, we're really
getting into the calorie packed winter meals.
This is just one of the home cooked meals
that he has decided to make this week. Check
back tomorrow for home made calzones.

For supper he made a simple bachelor meal for
himself, it looked pretty tasty so I added it to the blog.
We got the brisket from a cute couple at the farmers
market and kielke noodles made by my mama!

About the chef

He doesn't just cook well for others but makes every meal
time delicious. I'm always telling him to send me pictures
for every dish he creates. Hope he cooks for you one day!

Welcome October

I came home to the smell of fresh baked bread.
The warmth and smell on a cold, windy
day reminded me of home in the winter.

On the menu today was brisket on fresh baked
baguette bread. Wow, I love fresh bread. It's not
something we have in the house so it's a special
treat. I even forgot to take a picture before i took
a bite, I just couldn't wait.

I hope you have been enjoying the beginning of October,
I know i pulled out my fall decorations
complete with pumpkins at our door step.

About the chef

It's almost thanksgiving here in Canada and
that means Chris makes his Twice baked sweet potatoes!
We'll be off to Ontario to spend the holidays, and that means he
gets to spoil his fam-jam with his tasty skills!

Eggs and poems

Happy October!

Like I said yesterday if Chris gets a good idea
for breakfast we end up late for church....

Well we ended up having a nice meal together
before church and coffee on the go.

Just a regular omelette, not even close!
He always adds some cream to give it a
light and fluffy texture. With all the regular
toppings; cheese, ground beef and celery.

Supper was worthy of showing off as well!

A rack of rosemary seasoned lamb and a
homemade tsatziki type sauce. Lamb was
cooked very moist and tender and topped
with the cool and creamy sauce. Rounded
with rice and soya sauce.

A filling little plate, but I always leave room
for dessert. So we raided our raspberry bush
and had cream, sugar and raspberries! Chris
likes his smushed right up and stirred but I
like the whole raspberries.

 About the chef
Chris is always the life of the party and just has that
attractive personality. He loves to tell jokes and
get people to laugh. Here's a poem he made:
Roses are red, violets are blue
Who likes to cook? I do!
